In this video, I upgrade an older 2012 Macbook Pro to MacOS Catalina, 16GB of Ram and a 1TB SSD. These much needed upgrades bring the aging laptop up to speed and make it much better for daily driver use.

Thanks for your video. This is the exact calculator I have. It has worked perfectly for many years, but now won't turn on. I was trying to disassemble it, but couldn't separate the top and bottom pieces. Thought I must have missed a screw and I didn't want to break it. This showed that the pieces are snapped together really tight and you have to apply more pressure pulling them apart. Exactly what I was looking for!

Wow, I can't believe you have a video of the exact printing calculator I'm trying to fix! Thank you for showing me how to take it apart. The rubber ring/tube that helps the paper advance on my calculator just busted out today after having difficulty advancing for the last several months. Now I just have to figure out where it came from & if I can replace it. Might be easier to buy a whole new calculator... but I love a challenge.

Question? I'm planning to buy a shanling cd-s100 cd player, and I found out that I could buy, original remplacement optical laser lens. Would it be a good investment?, the day that I have a problem with my cd player, I could simply replace the laser lens. Wouldn't that extend my cd player for a longtime use instead of buying a new one?
If you're comfortable with replacing the laser lens and it's a lot cheaper than a new CD player, might be worth it. In general, I think the laser lens is unlikely to stop working unless it gets dirty somehow.
@@inventordude Is it possible, as I go throu RUclips, that the majority of CD players problems are; laser lens to be clean or not functional, broken rubber ban that help to open the drawer or an ajustment (screw) around the laser len. All these are mostly connected to major CD playesr problem but rarely the connection board. Am I right? Thanks for everythings! Good video!

What's the diffrence? changing the hard disk to a SSD?
SSDs are much faster so boot time and app loading times are shorter making the laptop feel like new.

Hi, the parts I used were not Apple original but they were compatible. I'm not sure that Apple still has official replacement parts for any of these older iPods. Ifixit should have good replacement parts for sale if you don't want to go the eBay route like I did here. Good luck with the repair!

I'd recommend a 30-50w LED bulb with an output of at least 2000 lumens. The bulb in this video felt a little dim so I ended up replacing it later on. Thanks for watching!

I found this project on instructables and then made this. Try looking up "Custom Glowing Laptop Insignia/Symbol". Yes, you can do it with any laptop as long as you can take apart the screen frame on it. Good luck!
What were the specs of that netbook?
I believe it has an Intel atom n450 cpu in it. Single core, running at 1.6 GHz. And 1gb of RAM.

Cool, just a heads up though I had some trouble getting this to work as planned. I don't think there was enough air pressure. Probably need a valve on the exit or a more powerful air pump, maybe both. Good luck!

what type of battery are you using?
I was using a rechargeable 9v battery. Probably one with more output and capacity would be much better for this project if I were to do it again.

Today you could buy those cheap wifi cameras that have a fairly decent array of ir lights anf uses about only 5v of power or by a battery pack if you need more help on how to rewire the system just search for the camera model and pcb patterns you so instead of directing the sensors data to wireless it woud direct it to the external screen.
